Sunset from High Altitude

"Sunset from High Altitude"
by Edward Kraus
Climing to FL220 (22,000 feet) in a Cessna 414 Chancellor on a test flight. This was part of a test flight to verify operation of the wastegate which regulates pressure from the turbo charger. Air Traffic Control assigned us a block of airspace just south of Naples, Florida (KAPF) for the exercise so we basically flew around in circles watching the sunset as we climbed. The weather was very clear and from 17,000 feet you could see the whole state of florida, from Ft. Myers to Miami and Ft. Lauderdale on the other side.
